Dear Lakeside Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at Lakeside Elementary! We look forward to welcoming everyone back in person this year as we “dive (deeper) into learning.” Last year provided us with an opportunity to draw closer as a school community as we transitioned from virtual to hybrid, held a variety of drive through events, and successfully held our first virtual International Night. Our families raised funds to purchase new continent flags that symbolize the over 50 countries represented at Lakeside. Despite the challenges, our students demonstrated resilience and growth.
We recognize that our families have many questions about our in-person return, and we will share information as it becomes available. Our goal is to continue to provide a safe environment where all students will demonstrate academic and social-emotional growth. Masks will be required for all students, staff, and visitors while in the building. In addition, we will use a three feet social distancing requirement throughout the interior of the school. We are happy to share that students will attend LAMP in their library, art, music, and PE classrooms and will return to lunch in the cafeteria. We are also excited to announce that our school counselors will deliver lessons as part of our LAMP rotation this year.
We hope to see you on Thursday, September 2 for our in-person Open House. You will have the opportunity to tour the building, meet your child’s teacher and other LKES staff, learn about the upcoming school year, and join the PTA. Have your cameras ready to snap a quick picture at our “dive into learning” themed photo booth.
